Job Description – PE Graduate Assistant

The postholder will be accountable to the Director of Sport and PE.

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of Physical  Education lessons
  • Support extracurricular activities during the school day and after school with coaching and administration
  • Help coach and officiate at sporting fixtures
  • Aid in the preparation of lesson resources
  • Upkeep of communal areas and sports resources
  • Assist in the transportation of pupils to and from sports fixtures and venues
  • Caring for and maintaining sports equipment and kit and helping to organise the sport and exercise store cupboards.
  • Preparing and setting up/tidying away equipment for lessons, co- and extra-curricular activities.
  • Having an understanding of Health and Safety procedures, risk assessments and codes of conduct and where required to apply these in the workplace.

Person Specification – PE Graduate Assistant 

Experience/Qualifications 

  • University graduate (or working towards completing a degree)
  • Experience of working with students at secondary age range.
  • Coaching experience across multiple sports.
  • Coaching qualification in Football and/or Netball would be an advantage.
  • Officiating/umpiring experience in different sports
  • First Aid qualification or a willingness to undertake this training is essential.

Working hours: 8.00am – 4.30pm (plus supporting after hours and weekend fixtures). Term time only plus INSET days before/after term dates

Salary: In the region of £28,000 – £29,500 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
