Channing, an independent school based in North London, where girls aged 4 to 18 can discover their interests, develop their talents, and build lasting friendships. Our inspiring environment fosters academic achievement and personal growth.
The school actively prepares pupils for the future.
A visionary all-girls school full of extremely confident, capable and engaging young women.
‘Fearless’ teaching and learning, encouraging girls to step out of their comfort zone and be ‘10 per cent braver’, is reaping academic rewards. It is a useful life lesson too, but not at the expense of school being fun.
Excellent academics, fantastic pastoral care and a wonderful way of imbuing girls with self-confidence, Channing makes a strong argument for single-sex education.
Girls throw themselves into all aspects of school life, and teacher commitment goes way beyond the classroom.

Ahead of tomorrow’s History Conference, our latest episode of Chatting with Channing is out now.
History Leaders Darcy and Winnie sit down with Dr Lisa Pine (Fellow of the Institute of Historical Research and the Royal Historical Society) to discuss her research on Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. Listen to the full episode on our website or by searching `Chatting with Channing` on your podcast platform.
Last Thursday, Channing was delighted to welcome Professor @tracy.borman — renowned Tudor historian and namesake of the Tracy Borman Women Making History Prize — for her annual History Lecture. She was introduced by last year’s award recipient and recent alumna, Simran. Speaking to pupils, parents and the wider community, Professor Borman explored Succession: Elizabethan England’s Greatest Political Drama, vividly bringing to life the bitter rivalries, intrigue and high-stakes power struggles that shaped the final years of Elizabeth I’s reign. Drawing on her deep expertise and engaging storytelling, she illuminated the uncertainty surrounding the Tudor succession and its far-reaching political consequences. The lecture was intellectually stimulating and sparked thoughtful discussion. We are enormously grateful to Professor Borman for such an enriching evening!
On Wednesday, a number of leading historians will gather at The Arundel Centre & Founders’ Hall for an afternoon of insight and fresh perspectives on some of the most significant conflicts of the modern era, as part of this year’s History Conference on Global Conflicts.
We’re especially delighted to welcome Sir Richard Overy, one of Britain’s most distinguished historians, who will deliver his keynote lecture, “Why War?”
Sir Richard Overy is a Fellow of the British Academy and Honorary Research Professor of History at the University of Exeter, renowned for his major works on the Second World War, air power, and European dictatorship — including The Dictators and The Bombing War.
At Channing School, every challenge is an opportunity to be 10% braver.
Try the thing you’re scared to try.
Share the idea you’re scared to share.
Take the step you’re scared to take.
That’s what being 10% braver looks like.
We build that bravery every day — becoming fearless learners, for life. And when bravery becomes a habit, the extraordinary follows.
Thank you to @riseproductionsuk for helping us bring this film to life.
Year 10 Germanists’ last moments in Vienna included Klimt, the Imperial Crypt, and a musical. The quality of the information which the Austrian Ministry of Education’s tour guides shared with us all week has made for a truly memorable experience. Danke, Wienaktion!
