At Channing Junior School, our wraparound care is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring every girl feels valued and well cared for throughout her time with us. The school is open from 7.30am when Early Birds (our before school club) starts, until 6.00pm when Late Owls (our after school provision) finishes.
We have partnered with Let’s Leap, a highly regarded provider of wraparound care, sports and holiday camps, to offer an enhanced experience for our pupils and families. Let’s Leap is an experienced and trusted organisation and their recent successes, including an excellent Ofsted report, reflect their commitment to providing high-quality care and innovative programmes. For more information about Let’s Leap and their services, please visit their website at Let’s Leap.
Early Birds
The girls can be dropped off at the School Office door between 7:30am and 8:00am for Early Birds. They are served a healthy breakfast and there are a choice of activities to do. The girls then join their classmates in the playground from 8:00am.
Late Owls
At Late Owls, which is available from your daughter’s dismissal until 6:00pm, pupils are able to take part in a range of activities, complete any of their assigned homework, and are served delicious snacks, sandwiches and soup.
Pupils attending after-school clubs can register for wraparound care to stay after their club(s) finish. Your daughter’s club leader will dismiss her directly to Late Owls.
Late Collection
If you are late to collect your daughter, she will be taken to the Late Collection provision in the Library, where she will be supervised. You will be contacted to inform you of the situation and to arrange collection. Please note that your daughter will not be able to attend Late Owls in the event of a late pickup. We encourage parents to make every effort to collect their daughter on time to ensure smooth transitions to wraparound care.
Sister Stop
In addition, families with a daughter in KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) and a younger sibling in Reception or KS1 (Years 1 and 2) at the Junior School will be able to make use of our free Channing Sister Stop, located in the Library. This will allow younger siblings at Channing to wait in a supervised environment, with the Teaching Assistants who also support Late Collection, until the start of their KS2 sister’s dismissal time, so both daughters can be collected together.
