Anatomy Club

Posted: 25th September 2023

The Anatomy Club started lasy week with eighteen Year 7 and 8 students. We began with the dissection of a mouse. The students carefully opened the animals and inspected the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach and intestines. Many students were surprised at the sizes of the different organs: the heart was small, around the size of a pea, but the liver was much larger, comprising a number of segments or lobes. The students were guided by 11 fantastic Sixth Formers who helped identify the different organs.

Next week we will be dissecting a lizard to see how a reptile’s anatomy compares to that of a mammal.
