Year 7 concert

On Monday 26 June 26 Year 7 students gave performances to their parents and some of the incoming Year 7 at the Year 7 Concert in the Arundel Centre. The concert started with a quartet of Nell H-C, Astrid, J, Shahar L and Luna T with their own arrangement of the Backstreet Boys hit, ‘I want it that way’. Hats off to them for independently working on this and producing a great performance. Alaia P then sang with confidence, ‘When I grow up’ from Matilda and staying with Matilda, Anaïs K and Maria P sang ‘Naughty’ with a real twinkle in their eyes! Elene K and Yasmin L then performed a duet on Flute and Violin respectively of ‘Verpiel y Gunzer’ by Rodriguez. Again this was their work and they displayed their excellent ensemble skills in this performance.

A fine rendition of ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman was then given by Raabiah J, Sophia S and Millie W. Then followed ‘Bertnstein’s ‘Rondo for LIfey’ played with real panache on the trumpet by Eliana P. Leah de T-L really blew the audience away with her singing of Adele’s ‘Set fire to the rain’ ably accompanied on the piano by Zeruchi B. Another spellbinding performance was Eliana H’s performance of Adele’s ‘I drink wine’ with Eliana both singing and playing the guitar. Hero K was our final soloist showing her technical mastery of the piano whilst giving a musical performance of Lane’s ‘Struttin’ at the Waldorf’. The evening closed with all 26 students singing a lovely rendition of Earworm by Mark Burrows.
