Bronze DoE Expeditions

Posted: 2nd July 2024

During Enrichment week, 109 Year 9 students embarked on their Bronze DoE Expeditions. We kickstarted the week with a First Aid Course to ensure the students were fully aware of how to deal with any situations they might be faced with during the Expeditions.

On Tuesday, accompanied by a member of staff (instructed not to help!), the groups headed off on a Training Walk in The Chilterns to get to grips with their map reading and navigation skills. The assessed expedition on Wednesday and Thursday took place in the beautiful New Forest. Many students found day one challenging, but all groups improved in leaps and bounds on day two and they all passed their expedition element of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

We were very proud of their efforts and their fantastic achievements and hope they are too.
