Channing is consistently recognised as one of the best independent schools in London; an independent school for girls aged 4 to 18, based in Highgate, North London, where every pupil is encouraged to discover their interests, develop their talents, and build lasting friendships. Our inspiring environment fosters academic achievement and personal growth.
The school actively prepares pupils for the future.
A visionary all-girls school full of extremely confident, capable and engaging young women.
‘Fearless’ teaching and learning, encouraging girls to step out of their comfort zone and be ‘10 per cent braver’, is reaping academic rewards. It is a useful life lesson too, but not at the expense of school being fun.
Excellent academics, fantastic pastoral care and a wonderful way of imbuing girls with self-confidence, Channing makes a strong argument for single-sex education.
Girls throw themselves into all aspects of school life, and teacher commitment goes way beyond the classroom.

We are delighted to welcome Rahim Hirji, the author of SuperSkills: The Seven Human Skills for the Age of AI, founder of The SuperSkills Intelligence Company and Channing Governor, to Channing on Thursday 25 June. At Channing, we foster intelligent and creative users of technology who are ready for what comes next, and so in his talk, Rahim will discuss the seven essential skills necessary to thrive at work in the age of AI, and how to recognise when you are ‘drifting with the algorithm’ rather than designing your own path.
The talk will take place in the Arundel Centre, Channing Senior School, at 6:15 pm on Thursday 25 June. A book signing will be held afterwards where guests will be able to purchase advance copies of Rahim’s book (official publication date 3 July).
Tickets are £20 for adults, free for students, and all profits from ticket sales will go to the Channing Social Impact Fund, supporting bursaries and partnerships: transforming lives through education. If you would like to purchase tickets, please use the following link: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/GKWL
Huge congratulations to our Channing Senior School artists!
We are delighted that Channing pupils have been recognised in the University of Oxford Centre for Personalised Medicine (@cpmoxford) Art Competition 2025–26, which invited UK students in Years 7–9 to explore the meaning of personalised medicine through art.
Cleo and Sadie, age 12, were named winners of the group category for their thoughtful artwork showing how personalised medicine can affect not only health, but also friendships, family life and education.
Nyah, age 12, was named joint runner-up in the individual category for her powerful piece exploring how genetics, lifestyle and clinical data can help tailor healthcare to each person
We are thrilled to be a finalist in the Education Choices Awards 2026, for Developing School Partnerships. This recognises Channing School’s growing partnerships programme, bringing pupils together through shared learning, mentoring and community.
Year 4 pupils were making the most of the sunny weather by drawing the trees in our wonderful grounds. Drawing with a long stick is excellent for training your eye and forcing a looser, more expressive style. It also establishes a healthy physical distance between an artist and their work, helping break the habit of hunching over a sketchbook.
We are delighted to share our latest episode of Chatting with Channing, featuring alumna Asti Wagner, founder of Invyted.
Asti joined Channing in Year 7 and describes the School as the place where she truly came out of her shell. In this episode, she reflects on confidence, friendships, favourite school memories and how her love of food, creativity and business led her to launch @invyted.app
What began as a food Instagram page, @eatwithast, grew into a platform that helped Asti spot a real gap in the influencer marketing world. Her solution was Invyted, an app designed to streamline collaborations between creators, brands and venues.
This is an inspiring listen for anyone interested in entrepreneurship, creativity, social media or simply finding the confidence to take a different path.
