Year 2 had a fantastic day out in the city exploring the landmarks of the Great Fire of London!
They loved taking part in a workshop where they dressed up as Samuel Pepys and his wife, wrote secret codes with quills, and became history detectives by spotting hidden clues about the fire around the church’s windows.
Last week, our Junior School enjoyed two excellent sporting fixtures. On Monday our Year 6 pupils visited @Highgate_school for a fun afternoon of netball matches. Whilst on Friday, the U11 football team travelled to @Cothillschool, Oxfordshire to compete in the @iapsuksport tournament. Well done to all of the girls who represented Channing last week.
Reception have been busy creating Diya lamps during Independent learning after reading about Diwali!
Last Thursday, we had our first Communitea of the year! It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces from our local community and to welcome some new ones too. This term, we were especially delighted to introduce our new Year 9 volunteers, who joined the team for the first time and did a brilliant job helping to host the afternoon.
As we shared a lovely afternoon tea, we enjoyed hearing about everyone’s summer holidays – from family adventures to new hobbies and memorable moments. Communitea is such a meaningful way to strengthen our links beyond the school gates, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back again in a few weeks! - Leila L, Year 12
